How to choose the right one
Wheel size
- 6.5 inches: the most common format, light and easy to handle, for indoors and smooth surfaces. Example: Gyroor G13.
- 8.5-inch off-road: bigger tyres that absorb bumps, for grass and gravel. Example: Gyroor Warrior G2.
- 10 inches and up: maximum comfort and range, but heavier. Example: Segway-Ninebot S2.
Maximum load
Check the supported weight: most models accept up to 100 kg, off-road models up to 120 kg.
UL 2272 safety certification
Choose a UL 2272-certified model, like the Gyroor G13. This US safety standard covers the hoverboard's entire electrical system (battery, charger, motors, wiring), particularly with regard to fire risk.
Bluetooth and LEDs
A speaker and LED lighting add to the fun, but should not be the main criterion.
The hoverkart pack
For even more fun, the Hoverboard + Kart pack adds an adjustable seat that turns the hoverboard into a kart: you sit down and steer with your hands. Ideal for children and long sessions. The seat is compatible with 6.5 to 10-inch hoverboards.
Learn to ride in 5 steps
- Choose a flat, smooth surface with no obstacles.
- Step on one foot at a time, in the centre of the platform.

- Turn by pressing a little harder on one foot than the other.
Safety
- Wear a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads, especially for children.
- Never leave a hoverboard charging unattended.
- Avoid steep slopes and wet surfaces.
- Respect the minimum age and maximum load stated by the manufacturer.
